Rwanda: Dr. Patrice Mugenzi takes over as Minister of Local Government
On Monday, October 21, 2024, Dr. Patrice Mugenzi officially assumed the role of Minister of Local Government, succeeding Jean Claude Musabyimana, who had held the position since 2022.
Previously serving as the Director General of the Rwanda Cooperative Agency (RCA), Dr. Mugenzi takes over after Musabyimana’s nearly two-year tenure, which began on November 10, 2022, following Jean Marie Vianney Gatabazi.
Dr. Mugenzi, also a former lecturer at the University of Rwanda, started his leadership at the Rwanda Cooperative Agency on August 10, 2023, succeeding interim leader Ms. Pacifique Mugwaneza.
